Travel Program - Financial Assistance

To help ensure equitable access to our summer travel program, a limited number of scholarships are available for families in need of financial assistance. To be considered, applicants must demonstrate financial need and/or extraordinary circumstances need through one or more of the following:

• Qualification for free or reduced-price lunch at school
• Participation in a government assistance program (e.g., SNAP, TANF, Medicaid)
• Household income below the federal poverty line
• Extraordinary circumstances—such as significant medical expenses, loss of income due may also be taken into consideration.

Scholarship Awards:
If financial aid is awarded, it will be applied to the registration fees. Families will be responsible for paying any club, coaching, uniform, or team expenses not covered by the Scholarship.

Application Requirements:

Completed Online Application Form during Registration
This includes contact information, player details, and supporting financial documentation.

• An application must be submitted for each player if you are requesting assistance for multiple players.

Acceptable financial documentation includes one or more of the following:

• A current letter confirming eligibility for free/reduced lunch
• Proof of participation in a public assistance program (e.g., benefits letter)
• Recent tax return or pay stub demonstrating income below the federal poverty line

Short Explanation
From the parent/guardian or the child (age-appropriate), explaining why they want to participate in the program and how financial assistance would help.

Selection Criteria

Assistance will be awarded based on documented financial need.

Application Deadline:

All applications must be submitted by the registration deadline. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

Notification:

Families will be notified by email regarding the status of their financial assistance application. 

If you receive notification of an accepted application, you may proceed with registering your player for the program and follow the instructions provided in your notification email.

If a family does not qualify for assistance, we will notify you via email. As part of the registration process, you will be responsible for paying the full program fee.

All scholarship information will be handled with the utmost confidentiality and will be securely maintained by the Sartell Soccer Association’s Scholarship Committee.
