2026 Spring/Summer Goalkeeper Training Opportunity

Train Like a Pro – Improve Your Skills!

Sartell Soccer Association is pleased to announce that we will once again be offering spring/summer goalkeeper training led by professional coach Tommy Schmidt, The Goalie Guy ! Whether you're a new goalkeeper looking to learn the fundamentals or an experienced goalkeeper aiming to refine your technique, these sessions are for you!

Training Details:

U13+ sessions will begin on Sunday, April 12 from 7:00 - 8:30pm. Registration is $100 for 10 sessions. These will be held weekly on Sunday evenings.
U9-U12 sessions will begin on Sunday, April 26 from 6:00 - 7:00 pm. Registration is $50 for 5 sessions. These will be held weekly on Sunday evenings.
All trainings will take place at the Sartell Middle School soccer fields, "on the hill."

Space is limited to 10 goalkeepers per group; register early to secure your spot.

About Coach Tommy Schmidt

Tommy Schmidt has dedicated his career to developing goalkeepers of all ages and skill levels. He played as a goalkeeper at the collegiate level before entering coaching. For the past four years, he has trained goalkeepers across Central Minnesota, including two who have been part of MYSA state championship teams and several area high school varsity keepers.

Tommy is the current Goalkeeper Coach for the College of St. Benedict’s NCAA D3 soccer team and holds Level 1 & 2 Goalkeeping certifications through United Soccer Coaches , with Level 3 licensing currently in progress. He is the owner of “The Goalie Guy” goalkeeper training.

Pre-K through 4th grade
Designed for beginners and building skill development for players
Focus on having fun playing soccer in a supportive environment.
Tuesday evenings starting June 9th through Tuesday July 28th (No session on Tuesday, July 7th) at Pine Meadow Primary School
Pre-K, K, 1st grade: 5:30-6:30pm
2nd, 3rd, 4th grade: 6:45-7:45pm
Registration is $103.20 and includes a t-shirt.

Sartell Soccer Association Annual Meeting

Date: Tuesday, January 27th

Time: 7:00pm

Location: Sartell Community Center, Liberty Bank Room 1 & 2

We are excited to invite you to th e Sartell Soccer Association's Annual Meeting! This is an excellent opportunity to come together as a community, learn about the past year’s accomplishments, and discuss the exciting plans we have for the year ahead.

This year, we’ll also hold open elections for the following positions within the Sartell Soccer Association. Board members are elected to serve two year terms.

Open Positions:

President
The President serves as the chief officer of the Association, overseeing its overall management and operations.
The role includes presiding over board and membership meetings, signing official documents, maintaining corporate records, and ensuring compliance with all required filings and registrations alongside the Treasurer.
The President performs additional duties as directed by the Board, and serves as an ex-officio member of all committees.

Vice President
The Vice President serves as the primary backup to the President and assumes full presidential authority when the President is absent or unable to perform their duties.
This role supports organizational leadership by helping ensure all responsibilities are fulfilled or appropriately delegated, overseeing the annual performance review process for employees, independent contractors or volunteers with substantive roles and carrying out additional tasks assigned by the Board.

Treasurer
The Treasurer serves as the chief financial officer of the Association, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing deposits and disbursements, and ensuring all expenditures are properly documented.
The role includes providing regular financial reports to the Board, supporting the budget process, and coordinating required annual filings and registrations.
The Treasurer also oversees compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and industry standards.

Secretary
The Secretary is responsible for preparing meeting agendas with the President, recording and maintaining official Board minutes, and overseeing the organization’s core records, including governing documents, notices, and required filings.
This role ensures timely communication of official notices, manages credentialing for membership meetings, and helps coordinate the scheduling of the Annual Membership Meeting. The Secretary also shares responsibility with the President for signing official documents on behalf of the Association when authorized.

Member At-Large - (5 open positions)
A Member-at-Large provides general support to the Board by attending board meetings, contributing to discussions, offering perspective on organizational decisions, assisting with projects as needed and sitting on at least one standing committee.
Seeking expertise in operations management, fundraising and program development.

Coordinators:

Recreation Coordinator
The Recreation Director manages the Summer and Fall recreational soccer program, overseeing scheduling, team assignments, volunteer coaches, and communicating with parents and coaches to ensure a positive, inclusive experience for all participants.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for soccer within the community.

Communications Coordinator
The Communications Director oversees digital communication, website maintenance, and social media to ensure information is accurate, accessible, and aligned with organizational goals.
The position manages updates to the website, develops and posts content across social platforms, and serves as a primary contact for communication-related needs.
Additional responsibilities include promoting programs, coordinating communication efforts, and gathering feedback to enhance engagement.

Equipment Coordinator
The Equipment Coordinator is responsible for organizing, maintaining, and managing all soccer equipment and supplies for both travel and recreational teams.
Key duties include keeping the equipment shed organized, tracking and restocking inventory, assembling and distributing ball bags, and ensuring equipment is returned in good condition.
The role also involves attending monthly board meetings to report on equipment needs and volunteering at tryouts, fundraisers, and other soccer events to support program operations.
